The visual essay “ by the diversity of circumstances or the nature of things” is part of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Umbigo Magazine. It formed part of a series of four issues exploring themes such as Nature, Capitalism, Patriarchy, and Colonialism. The issue dedicated to Patriarchy is No. 82, published in 2022. The title derives from the article 5th of the constitution of Estado Novo (1933).
